Identifier
A number that names the resource, and the scheme it belongs to.
Token or name that is associated with a resource, such as a URI or an ISBN
BIBFRAME's definition of
bf:Identifier. The primer has a section on it.
Example
{
"@type": [
"Isbn"
],
"qualifier": [
"hardback"
],
"rdf:value": [
"9788183155984"
]
}Trimmed from a real record rather than written for the occasion, and checked against this definition by tests/test_examples.py. A wrong example is worse than none, because it is the first thing anyone copies.
Properties
| Property | Takes | What BIBFRAME says it is |
|---|---|---|
rdfs:label | Text | defined by RDF Schema |
rdf:value | Text | defined by RDF |
qualifier | Text | Qualifier of information, such as an addition to a title to make it unique or qualifying information associated with an identifier. |
status | Ref | Designation of the validity or position of something, such as indication that the classification number is canceled or invalid, circulation availability of an item, indication of whether the identifier is canceled or invalid. |
Every property here holds an array, and a property this definition does not name is still checked: it must be an array too. Naming a property buys a check on what its values look like, and nothing else.
The schema
https://blue-core-lod.github.io/bibframe-json/schema/dialect/Identifier.json is this definition on its own, and https://blue-core-lod.github.io/bibframe-json/schema/dialect.json is the whole shape with every definition inlined. They are checked against each other over the conformance corpus, so either is safe to depend on.
